We teach everyone to ride horse at their own pace regardless of their stature. We have taught everyone from 12 years to 70 years old. Our lessons are private  (we do not offer group lessons) and all students are given our full attention. All of our students are taught safety first in everything they do.

When a new student arrives they are given an overview of that day's lesson. The first lesson starts with getting to know about horses in general. Their nature, their intelligence, and to recognize their demeanor.

We teach the 5 things to know before riding any horse.

  • Catching and haltering the horse.

  • Leading a horse on a lead rope.

  • Grooming your horse.

  • Saddling and tacking

  • Mounting and dismounting

After this overview, the student is given hands-on  (supervised) instruction and talked through doing these 5 important steps. We then put the new student in our riding arena to start learning posture and reining.

Our first lesson takes about 2 hrs. and the fee is $50.00.  Each subsequent lesson is $30.00 per hr.

The average new rider can expect to be able to ride unassisted in about 6 to 10 hours of instruction. The entire course takes about 12 hours to complete. After completing the course, each student earns a certificate in Basic Horsemanship.

The next step would be to start on an advanced course - Trail Riding.  After these two courses, you can move on to a course in Speed Events (including Barrel Racing and Pole Bending).  At the completion of each course you will earn a certificate given by a certified instructor.

NO children under 12 years old.

2 hours advance reservation required on the day you wish to ride or take lessons: call 817-478-0543.
